Sphere Combat Systems specialises in Close Quarters Combat (CQC), a highly specialised form of tactical combat. Our distinctive CQC employs specific tactics, strategies, and skills to effectively confront aggressive and dangerous assailants across diverse environments, including variously sized buildings, confined and open urban areas, and different modes of transport.
Sphere Close Quarters Combat prioritises rapid and efficient tactical adaptability. Core principles of Sphere Tactical Combat include speed, the element of surprise, situational awareness, violence of action, and fostering an offensive/defensive mindset.
Violence of action, for our purposes, means countering violence with superior force to achieve a life-preserving objective. While speed, surprise, and strategic tactics are fundamental in CQC, violence of action becomes imperative when facing a lethal threat, reducing the risk to life.
Our training caters to those committed to avoiding victimhood in dire situations, equipping them with the means to defend themselves, their loved ones, and others. It integrates Military and Martial Arts combat tactics and strategies that are instinctual, memorable, and validated for effectiveness in any conflict scenario.
Sphere combat is an avant-garde system tailored to the realities of confrontational encounters. Our dynamic, "No Nonsense" approach employs tactics and strategies not only for physical survival but also for psychological endurance, fostering a positive and robust mindset.
Sphere combat training is inclusive, open to all ages, abilities, and fitness levels. We have aided many in building confidence, resilience, and control.

How training has helped Sphere students take control
Domestic violence survivor 'Posted with permission'
One of my private students recently confided in me about a confrontational situation she found herself in, which at the time she was unable to avoid. She was showing empathy to her ex-partner whom had recently lost a close family member.
Having been in an abusive relationship with this man she was fully aware of what he was capable of so was naturally apprehensive and fearful. After using the line "I have changed now and I'm not that person anymore" empathy was shown by her (which anyone would do when someone has lost a family member). Sadly, the usual and all too common line turned out to be a lie. Unfortunately, the inevitable happened; he attacked her. Holding her against the sink whilst grabbing her by the throat, his elbows digging in her chest as well as pinning her legs with his legs so that should could not kick out. During the attack, her startled reflex kicked in and from that she utilised her training.
Her first instinct was to push her fingers into his eyes. As he was enraged this did not seem to have any effect. Not giving in, she repeated the same action again but this time he took a slight step back. Taking advantage of this she punched him twice to the eye socket, which made him step back even further and scream out in pain. After hearing a commotion from my students flat, a neighbour approached as the sorry excuse for a man ran away.
After discussing the incident my student felt more confident, gained back her self-belief and continued training with total focus and intent.

Two of my private students at Sphere Combat told me of a situation, well not so much a situation just that the result was good and bad, let me explain. The students are Dad and Daughter they train together under my private training programme. The Dad spoke to me during one of the training sessions he explained that his Daughter and himself were practising at home and that his Daughter who is now beaming with confidence since training with Sphere wanted to show Mum what she has been learning. So he attacked his Daughter(scenario) lol, whereupon she utilised a tactic learned from training with Sphere, now this is the good and bad part, good in that his Daughter broke a couple of his ribs, bad that it was painful for Dad. But even so he explained to me that he was pleased to see (and feel) lol, considering the size and strength difference which to give an example was 5' 10" and 14 stone of Dad and 5' 4" and 7 stone of Daughter, an example of how Sphere Combat is for real and works for everyone

Sphere Functional Fitness
Sphere Functional Fitness Training emphasizes the importance of functional strength, which is the ability to perform everyday activities with ease.
Functional strength training involves a commitment to both physical and mental discipline. The training principles typically include resistance training, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), gymnastics, calisthenics, and endurance exercises.
Training both the mind and body to perform efficiently in various environments is crucial. In a world full of easy excuses, it's vital to seek challenges that foster mental toughness, providing a significant advantage. Sphere Functional Training stands out by offering such challenges, pushing individuals beyond their comfort zones.
Functional training focuses on movements like holding, pushing, pulling, throwing, and heaving, ensuring the body's fitness is practical and applicable to real-life situations.
Strength developed across the entire body creates a synergy, resulting in a flow that is not typically achieved through traditional training methods that isolate one muscle group per day.
Recognizing that each individual is unique, Sphere provides customized training plans tailored to one's specific needs and lifestyle.
To truly benefit from training, it's essential to have clear goals and focus on incremental progress. Ignoring the urge to quit and persevering through the training will lead to success.
